The Friends of the Pan American Library host a trunk or treat in the branch's parking area on West Pyron Avenue on the South Side. Children come in their favorite family-friendly costume and carry a treat bag from home (the library asks families to bring their own) to collect candy from decorated vehicles. There is also a cornhole game and snacks. The event runs from 5 to 7 pm on the Tuesday before Halloween, which gives younger children a safe, early trick-or-treat that is over by dinner time.
