- Texas Parks and Wildlife – Lost Maples State Natural Area
The day before Thanksgiving, a ranger at Lost Maples State Natural Area meets visitors at the day-use parking area to talk about wild turkeys — their habitat and Thanksgiving traditions — and then leads a turkey art project to take home. All craft supplies are included. The program is outdoors and lasts about an hour, 11 am to noon on Wednesday, November 25, which suits families visiting the Hill Country for the holiday. Bring plenty of water, a hat and sunscreen. It is free with park admission ($6 per person 13 and older); reserve a day pass in advance because the park usually sells out during fall-color season.
