Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park in Carlsbad celebrates Día de los Muertos with music, activities and a traditional ofrenda dedicated to the Carrillo family. Schedule: the decorated historic adobe ranch house is open 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; storytelling in the historic hacienda 10 a.m.–noon; face painting 10 a.m.–1 p.m.; arts and crafts, a community ofrenda for remembering loved ones and photo ops 10 a.m.–2 p.m.; Ballet Folklorico de Tapatio de San Dieguito at 11 a.m.; and a family-friendly concert by Grupo Bella at 12:30 p.m. Food and drink are for sale. Admission is free with no registration. The ranch stays decorated through Nov. 2 for casual touring during park hours, and extra parking is at Carrillo Elementary School.
