About this adventure

Encanto Recreation Center in southeastern San Diego marks the holidays with Dinner in Whoville, its annual winter event, on a Thursday evening a week before Christmas. Named after the town from Dr. Seuss's Grinch story, it is a free community night for all ages: every guest gets a free dinner plate, and there are raffles, entertainment and games through the evening. It runs from 5 to 8 PM, so families can come straight from work and school. The center's events page asks participants to pre-register on the city's SDRecConnect website, so check there before you go; the page lists no fee for this dinner.
