South Clairemont Recreation Center and Park hosts its first family carnival over four days, Thursday, October 22, to Sunday, October 25, 2026. The fenced carnival area on the front side of South Clairemont Park will have roughly 14 to 16 rides, six games and two food concessions, making it a neighbourhood-scale outing for young children and families rather than a large fair. Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday, 2 to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 2 to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Gate entry is $2 for adults and free for kids under 12. On the Thursday opening night every ride costs $2; from Friday to Sunday, unlimited-ride wristbands cost $45 each, and family-pack ride coupons are also sold. The City of San Diego lists it as a family event ahead of Halloween weekend; the city page's title calls it a 'Winter' Carnival although it runs in October.
