A free, ranger-led walking tour of Heritage County Park in Old Town San Diego, where restored Victorian-era buildings were moved to preserve them. The ranger tells the stories behind each historic house, pitched so that all ages can follow along, and the walk lasts about an hour starting at the flagpole. It is a gentle stroll suited to school-age children who like history and to grandparents; strollers can manage the paths around the row. Tours run on the last Saturday of the month at 1 p.m. (Oct 31, Nov 28 and Dec 26 in this window). Inclement weather may cancel, so call the park at (619) 531-4952 before heading out.
