About this adventure
The Halloween-morning stop of the County's October Hike-a-Thon series is an easy, roughly 2-mile walk through San Dieguito County Park in Del Mar, a short distance inland from the Pacific. The route crosses the park's suspension bridges and passes lookout towers that hikers may climb, which makes it a good first guided hike for younger children and grandparents alike. Hikers meet at the ranger office near the main entrance of the upper park. Bring water and sunscreen. No fee or registration is listed on the County calendar entry. Note that the listing gives two different start times (see notes), so arrive for the earlier one.
