About this adventure

An evening presentation on Italian winter folklore at the AVO Playhouse in downtown Vista, part of the Downtown Vista WinterFest line-up. The talk introduces La Befana, the kindly 'Christmas witch' of Italian tradition who flies on her broom on the eve of Epiphany to fill children's stockings, and explains the customs and stories that grew up around her. It is billed as fun and educational, so it suits school-age children who like stories and holiday traditions from other countries, as well as their grown-ups. Befana herself appears in costume, and families can take photos with her after the program. Entry is free; no registration is mentioned on the listing, so plan to arrive a little early for a seat in the small theater.
