Fleet Science Center

Hands-on science center at the east end of El Prado in Balboa Park. The Fleet Experience ticket includes one documentary in the Heikoff Giant Dome Theater plus the exhibit galleries (Digital Me, Mechanics Alive, Space Gallery, Studio X, Kid City and more than 100 interactive exhibits). Open Monday through Sunday 10am to 5pm; holiday hours: December 10 10am to 4pm, December 24 10am to 5pm, December 25 12:30pm to 5pm. Accessibility hours on the third Saturday of every month 9am to 10am offer a quieter gallery visit and a film screening with house lights on. On the first Tuesday of each month (Residents' Free Day) San Diego County residents, local college students and active-duty military get free exhibit gallery admission with ID; Giant Dome Theater shows are $9.95 that day.
