Oceanside's Thanksgiving-morning Turkey Trot, organised by San Diego Running Co., is built for the whole family, with races for every age on Thursday, November 26, 2026. Adults and teens can choose the Early Wave 5K at 7:00 a.m. or the Main Wave 5K (walkers start at 8:15 a.m.); the 5K starts at Oceanside Civic Center and finishes at the pier, and strollers line up in the final two waves. Children have their own races later in the morning: the Kids 1 Mile for ages 7 to 12 starts at 10:00 a.m. and the Kids 1/5 Mile for children 6 and under starts at 10:25 a.m., with top-three awards in each age band (4 and under, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12). The costume contest for the best Thanksgiving outfits kicks off at 9:45 a.m. and every finisher receives a medal; there is live entertainment along the course. Kids' race entries cost $34.99, and youths 18 and under save 20% on 5K pricing. Part of every 5K registration goes to a local charity chosen by the participant. Parking is limited downtown; the organisers list several lots and drop-off points and warn not to park in the Walmart or Harbor Freight lots on Mission Avenue.
