San Diego Air & Space Museum

Aviation and space museum on Pan American Plaza in Balboa Park with aircraft, rockets, a Kids' Aviation Action Hangar and space simulators. Open seven days a week 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Guided museum-floor docent tours run Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10:30 to noon depending on availability; docent basement tours are $10 per person over 12 (free for children under 12 with a paid adult). Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. On the second Tuesday of each month (except December and January) admission is free for San Diego County residents, students, active-duty military and dependents with ID; special exhibitions, the 3D/4D theater and simulators are not included.
