About this adventure
A beginner-friendly, 90-minute wheel-throwing session in the New Children's Museum's ceramics studio for ages 8 and up, offered on Saturday afternoons through mid-December. After a demonstration of the basics, each participant gets a wheel, clay and tools and learns to center clay and shape a pot, with instructors coaching along the way. The museum stresses that pottery takes practice and that there are a few chances to experiment. At the end, each student chooses one piece to be glazed and fired by staff, ready for pickup about four weeks later. All materials are included; wear clothes that can get dirty. It suits older kids, tweens and teens, and parents can book seats alongside them with the CLAYTOGETHER code for additional seats.
