Mingei International Museum

Museum of folk art, craft and design on El Prado in Balboa Park. The Entry Level (with shop and Craft Cafe) is free for everyone every day; the Exhibitions Level requires a ticket, which is free for youth 17 and under. Open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 5pm and Friday 10am to 8pm; closed Monday, New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Admission is $5 after 5pm on Fridays and free for all on the third Tuesday of every month. A free digital guide is available on the Bloomberg Connects app. Sketching with pencil is welcome in the galleries. Admission prices are currently discounted during a partial gallery closure while new exhibitions are installed.
