The Old Globe

The Old Globe's family musical based on the Dr. Seuss book returns for its 29th year, November 4 through December 31, 2026, on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in Balboa Park, directed by James Vasquez. Songs include Santa for a Day, You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch and Welcome, Christmas. Running time is one hour and 20 minutes with no intermission. Children under three are not permitted except at 10:30 a.m. all-ages performances, where free lap tickets for children under three can be obtained from Ticket Services; every audience member must have a ticket, and minors 12 and under must be accompanied. Special performances: ASL-interpreted Friday November 13 and Friday December 11 at 7:00 p.m.; open-caption Saturday November 28 at 2:00 p.m.; sensory-friendly Saturday December 12 at 10:00 a.m. A Spanish-language production, Como el Grinch robo la Navidad, plays November 19-22. The free Globe Christmas Tree Lighting is Sunday, November 8 at 6:00 p.m. on Copley Plaza.
