Glow is the Exploratorium's annual winter season of luminous art and science, filling Bechtel Gallery 3 at Pier 15 with light-based artworks to play with. This year's pieces include Line Wobbler, a one-dimensional LED dungeon-crawler game with nine levels; Hidden Beacon, a sculpture of thousands of eyeglass lenses that changes color through polarized glasses; spinning, light-traced sculptures; The Gateway, an array of 91 motorized infinity mirrors with 11,000 LEDs; a fluid 'bubble universe' you can step inside; and light lines that change with your point of view. Glow Cinema screens short films of glowing landscapes, and the Tinkering Studio runs related hands-on activities through the run. Glow is included with daytime admission; the museum is open Tuesday–Saturday 10 am–5 pm and Sunday noon–5 pm (Sunday 10–noon is for members), closed Mondays.
