About this adventure

CuriOdyssey's winter light exhibition returns for its tenth season, turning the four-level Redwood Hall at the Coyote Point science museum and zoo into a glowing forest of hands-on light science. Children walk through a maze of luminous botanical shapes, play with rainbow refraction and swirling projections, paint with light on phosphorescent walls and dance with their own shadows, while the exhibits explain photoluminescence, fluorescence, color mixing, waves and refraction. This anniversary year adds ten new glowing exhibits alongside returning favorites. The hall is darkened and uses light and sound effects, so children who are sensitive to light or noise may want a short first visit. IlluminOdyssey is part of a regular CuriOdyssey visit, so families can combine it with the museum's animal habitats and outdoor science exhibits; plan on an hour or two in total. Parking at Coyote Point Recreation Area costs extra per car.
