The Lafayette Chamber of Commerce's free holiday celebration takes place on Friday, December 4, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. in downtown Lafayette. The evening includes a free visit with Santa (arrive early to see his arrival), free rides on the Lafayette Express train, the official holiday tree lighting, photo spots, live music, crafts and holiday treats. Last year local school choirs and dance groups performed, Scout troops helped out and roaming storybook characters walked the crowd. It suits families with young children; plan to stay downtown for dinner afterward.
