About this adventure
Antioch's yearly holiday festival fills historic Rivertown, the old downtown on the Delta waterfront, with an afternoon of family activities followed by an evening parade. The city's recreation department lists photo opportunities with Santa and cookie decorating during the day. At 5 PM the Holiday Delites Parade of live performers and moving floats steps off along W 3rd Street. The city tree is lit at 6 PM, and from 6:15 PM Antioch Unified School District bands and choirs perform while families take pictures with Santa and the Grinch. Parade judging happens on W 2nd Street across from City Hall, which is a good place to watch. The city warns that the evening parade and tree lighting depend on the weather: a heavy downpour cancels them. It also says the Delta breeze makes the evening chilly, so bring warm layers. Free to attend.
