About this adventure

Hidden Villa is a working organic farm and wilderness preserve in the Los Altos Hills foothills, run by a nonprofit trust that has hosted environmental and social-justice education for generations of Bay Area children. Families can walk the farm, see the livestock from outside the pens (animal pens are entered only with a Hidden Villa guide, and chickens are handled only with a docent) and hike some of the 8 miles of trails into the wilderness area. Bikes are allowed on the farm but not on wilderness trails; dogs are welcome on leash but not on wilderness trails or around free-ranging chickens. There are no public trash cans, so pack out everything, and bring water, sunscreen and layers; cell coverage is limited. Hidden Villa also runs guided farm tours, archery and seasonal family programs (see its family calendar) plus summer camps. All are welcome: the farm will provide a discount code to anyone who cannot pay the parking fee.
