Auburn residents build gingerbread structures for the city's holiday contest, and the entries go on display at the Auburn Community & Events Center from December 1 to 12. Visitors vote for favorites in two categories, youth and adult, during the center's normal hours (Mon–Thu 7 am–8 pm, Fri 7 am–7 pm, Sat 8 am–4 pm), and the winners are announced December 14. Entering is free (builders supply their own materials; application and rules are on the city page), and stopping by to look and vote is a free, short indoor outing for kids.
