About this adventure

The Sheraton Grand Seattle's 32nd annual Gingerbread Village fills the downtown hotel with towering gingerbread creations from November 19, 2026 through January 1, 2027. Months ahead, Seattle architecture firms submit detailed schematics, the Sheraton's chefs bake the gingerbread foundations, and the teams build pieces around six feet tall; Breakthrough T1D 'elves' work with each team and bring their own ideas, some with AI tools and some drawn from their cultures and families. Each year has a theme (last year's Toy Shop Time Machine turned iconic toys and play structures into gingerbread), and this year's theme is revealed when the village opens. Families walk through at their own pace, and the detailed scenes are a hit with children who love building, candy and miniatures. Viewing is free to the public, and donations go to Breakthrough T1D's type 1 diabetes research.
