Pacific Northwest Ballet offers live audio description at five performances of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker at McCaw Hall, so blind and visually impaired patrons can follow the ballet through a listening device alongside their families. The described performances are Friday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, December 5 at 2 p.m.; Friday, December 11 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, December 12 at 2 p.m. Tickets for patrons using a listening device, plus one companion, are subsidized at $20 each; additional tickets for the rest of the family can be added at the standard or child rate. The production runs 2 hours and 3 minutes including a 25-minute intermission, with the PNB Orchestra in the pit.
