About this adventure
East Alton's village-owned indoor rink on Lewis and Clark Boulevard is the main place to skate on the Illinois side near Alton, Wood River and Edwardsville. Public skate sessions run through the week, and the arena keeps a calendar of open skates alongside stick-and-puck and drop-in hockey times. Admission and rental skates are inexpensive, helmets can be rented for beginners, and the staff suggests new skaters try the Learn-to-Skate classes before diving into busy sessions. The rink also runs theme nights such as Family Skate Nights and Teen Skate Nights with music, games and prizes, and it is where Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and many local high school teams play their games, so families can catch a game here too. A concession stand and a pro shop are on site.
