The City of Kirkwood's ice rink offers public skating sessions; times are on the monthly calendar linked from the arena page. Admission is $6 for Kirkwood and Glendale residents (ID required) and $7 for non-residents, and skate rental is $3. Buckets (skate aids) are available first come, first served, one per skater, and are generally for skaters 8 and under; children using one should be with an adult. Full hockey gear is strongly discouraged at public sessions and allowed only for children 8 and under. A Halloween Costume Skate is on Sunday, October 25, 3:15-5:15pm, with pre-registration on the flyer. The rink also has learn-to-skate classes for ages 4 and up, stick-and-puck sessions, a party room for up to 25 skaters ($150 residents / $170 non-residents) and Kirkwood Youth Hockey Association play for ages 4-16.
