A holiday engineering challenge at Baden Library in north St. Louis. Instead of icing and candy, children build cardboard houses and use engineering ideas to learn about stability, then test different house styles to see which design is strongest. The hour-long STEM Lab meets in the branch auditorium after school on a Wednesday in December and is recommended for ages 5 to 10. Expect a busy, hands-on room with shared tables. Call 314-241-2288 to arrange accessibility accommodations.
