About this adventure

On Halloween night, decorated cars line Main Street in downtown Waterloo and hand out candy and Halloween goodies to the children who come by to trick-or-treat. The City of Waterloo describes it as a safe, family-friendly evening, brought together by local churches, the city, Monroe County EMS, the Waterloo Police Department and the Waterloo Fire Department. Local businesses donate chili and drinks, which are handed out free of charge. The whole event lasts two hours in the early evening, a manageable length for younger trick-or-treaters. The city's page gives the start and end times but no year, and the regional tourism calendar lists slightly different times for 2026, so check with the City of Waterloo closer to Halloween before heading out.
