Historic site of settler James Alderman's 1848 river crossing on the Alafia River in Lithia. The park's most popular feature is a 1.9-mile paved loop that follows the north and south prongs of the Alafia, linking with a boardwalk and foot bridges into shaded cypress and oak woods; the loop is hiker, dog-walker and bicycle friendly. Birdwatching, fishing, picnic shelters and primitive campsites are offered. Swimming is not permitted. Pets, bicycles and skateboards are not permitted on the boardwalk. Per the county's 10-12-26 notice the canoe launch is closed due to high water levels.
