About this adventure
The Clearwater Public Library's annual Posada celebration brings the Mexican Christmas tradition of Las Posadas to the East Community Library, which shares a building with St. Petersburg College on Drew Street. Families can expect festive music, games and crafts, and — as in many Posada celebrations — piñatas. The afternoon party is for all ages and needs no registration, so it is an easy drop-in for a December Saturday with kids of any age, and a gentle introduction to how Christmas is celebrated in Mexico and across Latin America. Food is served, and the library warns it cannot guarantee dishes are free from contact with tree nuts, soy, dairy or other allergens, so plan accordingly for children with allergies.
