About this adventure
For the fifth year, the neighbors of the South Brooksville Avenue Historic District decorate their historic homes and invite everyone to walk the brick street on two December evenings. The stroll is free and runs from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, December 18 and 19. Along with the lights and displays there is free hot cocoa, s'mores by the fire and holiday movies on the lawn, plus music and dancing. Children can peek into Santa's 'Brooksville Delivery Station,' explore an expanded Christmas tree forest where familiar characters appear, and pose with Santa and Mrs. Claus in a sleigh originally built by Roger's Christmas Village; the organizers also promise a snowy surprise. The historic Russell Street Train Depot opens free during the stroll. Horse-drawn carriage rides down the brick street are booked separately through Country Depot, and TJ's food truck sells meals.
