About this adventure

Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation turns the Apollo Beach Recreation Center into a full-day camp while county schools are on winter break. Children ages 5 to 14 spend the day in the center's multipurpose room with staff-led games and activities, from 7:30 a.m. drop-off until 6 p.m. pick-up, so it works as holiday child care for parents who are still at work. The break is split into two camp weeks that are booked on their own: Monday to Wednesday, December 21–23 (the center is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day), and Monday to Thursday, December 28–31 (closed on New Year's Day). Each week costs $40. Camp weeks are not part of the county's After-School enrollment, so families whose children already attend after-school care still sign up for them separately through the county's online parks account.
