About this adventure

A 15,000-square-foot oceanfront beach park at the south end of the Virginia Beach boardwalk, billed by the city as the first 100% accessible oceanfront park in America. The playground has poured-in-place surfacing, raised sand tables for building sandcastles at wheelchair height, a sensory board for children who are autistic or visually impaired, a sway boat, and accessible sculptures of dolphins, a surfboard and a wave. A hand-operated sand scoop lets wheelchair users dig in the sand. Beach wheelchairs are free to borrow, first come first served.
