About this adventure

Jamestown Settlement hosts the Taquitock Festival with Virginia's 11 state and federally recognized Indian tribes: music, dance, art, films and games across the outdoor areas and the Robins Foundation Theater. Children can watch a shinny demonstration by the Powhatan Shinny League at 10:30 a.m., hear storytellers at the gazebo at 11 a.m. and noon, and see dancing and drumming on the Mall at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Films screen at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m., and a 4 p.m. panel discusses federal recognition. Included with admission; Virginia Indian tribal citizens get in free that day.
