About this adventure

Yorktown's tree lighting starts at Victory Monument at 6:30 p.m. with an elementary school choir and the Fifes & Drums of York Town, then moves to Riverwalk Landing for holiday music at 7 p.m. and the lighting of a 24-foot Tannenbaum at 7:30 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus visit, and children can write letters to Santa and to service members in the Freight Shed. The tradition dates back to 1945, when a decorated cedar tree marked the start of the season.
