Hyattsville Branch Library screens the holiday comedy Elf (rated PG, 97 minutes) with a hot cocoa bar on Tuesday, December 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. In the film, a human baby who accidentally falls into Santa's gift sack is raised at the North Pole believing he is an elf, until his size causes chaos in Santa's workshop and he is sent to find his human roots. The library recommends the movie for ages 8 and older, and the event is open to children, teens and adults. Registration is enabled on the library's online calendar for up to 50 people. The branch is at 6530 Adelphi Road, Hyattsville; phone 301-985-4690.
