About this adventure

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra opens its family concert season on the Sunday before Halloween with a costume-friendly program built around John Williams' music from Harry Potter. Designed for children under 12, the October 25 concert features the full orchestra under resident conductor William R. Langley, with performers from Dad's Garage, playing Harry's Wondrous World from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone alongside spooky orchestral favorites such as Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours, the Storm from Britten's Four Sea Interludes, Mendelssohn's Midsummer Night's Dream Scherzo, Anna Clyne's Masquerade and Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries. Children are encouraged to come in costume. Before the concert, the lobby hosts activities including photo booths, the Instrument Exploration Station, art-making and more; the ASO posts a digital map of the activity stations. There are two performances, at 1:30 and 3:00 p.m., with tickets sold through Ticketmaster.
