About this adventure

The annual Covington Christmas Parade, run by the City of Covington and Discover Covington, is traditionally held on the first Saturday in December. In 2026 it steps off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, and travels from Legion Field through downtown Covington. Up to 100 entries take part, including marching bands, floats, horse groups, walking groups and dance groups, and Santa Claus rides near the end of the line, just ahead of the horse units. Participants are not allowed to throw candy from floats; walkers hand candy and favors to spectators along the route instead, which keeps the curb calmer for small children. Entry applications were down to a waiting list as of October 24, so expect a full lineup. On the same day, the city's calendar lists the Lights at Legion kickoff and Mistletoe Market at Legion Field in the evening, so families can make a day of it.
