About this adventure
Georgetown Parks and Recreation's free Halloween evening in San Gabriel Park draws more than 2,500 people each year. Families walk a trail of sponsor and community booths handing out candy, and there are games, arts and crafts, a Touch-A-Truck area with city vehicles to climb into, and a lineup of food trucks. Costumes are encouraged, and the costume contest runs by age group: ages 0–3 at 5:30 p.m., ages 4–6 at 6 p.m., and ages 7–10 at 6:30 p.m., so plan your arrival around your child's slot. It is a weeknight event two days before Halloween, timed for younger children, and wraps up by 7 p.m.
