About this adventure

A hands-on, drop-in afternoon with Annapolis clockmaker Stephen Sieracki, known locally as the 'Clock Therapist', at the Hogshead Trades Museum on Pinkney Street. Visitors find out how a clock knows which hour to strike: they handle authentic clock parts and help assemble a working striking mechanism from a grandfather clock while the clockmaker explains the gears that count, track and announce the hours. Because it is informal and drop-in, families can arrive any time during the two hours and stay as long as curiosity lasts, which suits children who like taking things apart and seeing how machines work. It pairs well with a walk around the historic district, and it is a rare chance for kids to handle real clock parts.
