About this adventure

The YMCA of the Chesapeake adds Centreville to its Thanksgiving-morning Turkey Trot this year: a new 5K course that starts and finishes at the Queen Anne's County Family YMCA. The Y pitches the trot as a family tradition for 'adults, teenagers, children, and even your pup' — you can run, walk or stroll the 3.1 miles, so it suits families with young walkers as well as teens who want to race. Kids are registered at reduced age-based prices that are applied automatically at checkout, with a much lower price for children 6 and under. Packets can be picked up at the Centreville Y the afternoon before (2–7 pm) or from 7 am on Thanksgiving Day, half an hour before the 8:30 start. Proceeds go to the Y Open Doors Fund, which helps people who could not otherwise afford Y programs. A virtual option (any 3.1 miles between November 24 and 28) is also offered.
