About this adventure
The Rochester Opera House marks the 2026 holiday season with the world premiere of a new stage version of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, composed, choreographed and written by three local artists. Scrooge's Christmas Eve visits from the ghosts of past, present and future are told with music and dance on the historic downtown Rochester stage, and the theater pitches it as a show to bring the whole family to. Children who know the story from books or films will follow it easily; the ghost scenes may be a little spooky for the youngest. A sponsored offer gives two youth tickets (18 and under) at $10 each with the purchase of one full-price ticket, which makes it an affordable outing for a family group. Doors and concessions open 30 minutes before each show; individual performance times are not printed on the event page, so check the ticket link for the schedule.
