Weir River Farm's Tuesday-morning story hour lets toddlers and preschoolers meet the characters before the book: families explore the barnyard and say hello to residents such as Pepper the goat and Primrose the pig, then gather for a story surrounded by the animals. It is one of the last working farms on the South Shore, so expect real barn smells and outdoor time; dress for the weather. Recommended for ages 1 to 5, with infants in carriers welcome free. Adults must stay with their children (not a drop-off program), and pre-registration is required for each date. Dogs are not permitted on the farm.
