An evening family program at Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary in Topsfield that addresses bats' unfair 'spooky' reputation. Participants walk sanctuary trails at dusk looking for bats, learn about their behavior, habitats and ecological role, and use a Wildlife Acoustics Echo Meter to hear the ultrasonic calls bats make while hunting. Meet at the Nature Classroom. Bring a water bottle and weather-appropriate clothing and footwear; bug repellent is encouraged. Instructor: Daniel Holbrook, Teacher Naturalist.
