The Lower Mills Branch Library in Dorchester screens the 2006 animated film Monster House (PG, 1 hour 31 minutes) in its community room for a Halloween-week family movie. In the film, a group of kids discover that the creepy house across the street is itself alive. The library lists the showing for school-age children, tweens, teens and families; parents of younger or easily scared kids may want to check the PG rating first. The screening runs 3:30 to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, October 27.
