A family animal-tracking program at Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary in Topsfield. Families begin in the Nature Center with a track mystery to solve, learning to count toes, spot claw marks and size up a print. Then they hike about a mile of trail looking for the real thing: prints in snow or mud, chewed twigs, tufts of fur, scat and diggings that show who has been eating and hunting. Trails may be snowy or icy and uneven, so dress warmly and wear sturdy footwear. For families with children 4 to 12; more details are emailed before the program.
