A holiday story-and-dance morning at Needham Free Public Library. Local author David Ira Rottenberg reads his picture book 'Gwendolyn's Nutty Nutcracker', and ballet students from the Community Dance Academy at Walnut Hill, who will perform a stage version of the story at the end of December, join him to meet children. Kids are invited to come in their tutus, meet the author and the dancers, and enjoy a playful introduction to the Nutcracker story before the holiday ballet season. The library says it is best for ages 3 to 10. The program lasts half an hour in the Library Community Room, and no registration is required, so families can simply drop in on Saturday morning.

What was checked & what still needs confirmation
Read the Assabet event page: the h3 line prints weekday, date, time, room, branch and street address; year inferred from the 2026-december month listing it came from. The page URL slug says firefighter-storytime but the page content is the Nutcracker reading. Library pages do not say 'free' explicitly; public library program with no registration.
