A drop-in owl festival on the Saturday of MLK weekend at Mass Audubon's Boston Nature Center in Mattapan. Families move between indoor and outdoor stations to dissect owl pellets and find out what owls eat, handle feathers and skulls up close, and join guided walks (up to a mile on flat, even trail) to learn where owls live in Boston neighbourhoods. Children leave knowing where to look for owls near home, what puts them at risk and how to help. The trails are fully accessible but may be slippery with snow or ice. Severe weather may cancel or postpone the festival; more details are emailed after registration.
