Mass Audubon

Mass Audubon's Boston Nature Center hosts its annual Pumpkin Fest in Mattapan. Families carve a pumpkin to take home (a pumpkin from Ward's Berry Farm and all carving tools are included in the registration price), learn the history of the pumpkin from its agricultural origins to the Jack-O'-Lantern tradition, take a fall-themed scavenger hunt across the sanctuary, play fall-themed games, learn about fall ecology and eat roasted seeds from the carved pumpkin. Meet at the Nature Center; parking, restrooms and a water-bottle filling station are on site. Led by Mass Audubon staff.
