Upcoming dates: Sun, Oct 18 · Sun, Nov 15

A quieter hour at the USS Constitution Museum before public opening, 9:00–10:00 am, for visitors of all ages who prefer an experience without loud sounds or flashing lights; friends, families and caregivers are welcome. Movie sound is lowered, flashing lights in the Battle Theater film are turned off, a quiet room is available in the LEGO Shipyard, the cannon sound is off and a touch table is set up in Forest to Frigate. Hands-on exhibits let visitors design a ship, furl a sail and scrub the decks. Sensory items (fidgets, noise-reducing headphones) can be borrowed at the admission desk, and a social narrative and communication book are available online and on site. Admission by donation. Registration is required and limited to 35 people. Upcoming dates: October 18 and November 15. USS Constitution itself (US Navy) opens at 10:00 am first come, first served and makes no sensory modifications.
