About this adventure

On Veterans Day morning the USS Constitution Museum and the crew of USS Constitution offer veterans a special one-hour tour of Old Ironsides, led by an active-duty sailor before the ship opens to the public for the day. Veterans may bring family members and friends of any age, which makes it a meaningful way for children to see the 1797 warship with a grandparent or parent who served. Because the ship is an active-duty Navy vessel, everyone 18 and older needs a federal or state photo ID, the whole group must arrive together and on time, and strollers, walkers and most wheelchairs stay on the pier; going below decks means climbing steep, ladder-like steps, so it suits children who can manage stairs. The tour is capped at 25 guests and every person, including children, must register in advance.
