Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation's Eastway Regional Recreation Center and the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office put on a big all-ages Halloween night at Eastway Park. Activities include a Monster Mini Golf course, a glow-in-the-dark pumpkin field to hunt through, a walk-through Spooky House for those who dare, face painting, balloon creations, a s'mores station where families roast their own, and a Truck-or-Treat with Corvettes in place of the usual car trunks. Food trucks sell dinner and snacks at your own expense. Registration is through the county's ActiveNet site, which showed several hundred openings when checked. Parking fills up: overflow parking is at the Ella B. Scarborough Community Resource Center (430 Stitt Rd.) and Atrium Health (251 Eastway Drive), with a shuttle bus to and from the event.
